Peninsula House

Peninsula House

About

Type:  Residential villa

Location:  Peninsula, South Bali

Status: Residential

Build area: 750m²

A coastal residence designed in response to the limestone cliffs and dry landscape of Bali’s Bukit Peninsula.

Peninsula Villa is a secondary residence designed for a family who divide their time between Singapore and Bali, positioned within the rugged coastal landscape of the Bukit Peninsula.

The architecture responds directly to the character of the Bukit Peninsula landscape, drawing inspiration from the dramatic coastal cliff edges that define this part of the island.

Textured limestone is used across both the exterior façade and interior walls, echoing the rugged surfaces of the surrounding cliffs. Timber screens and interior finishes are intentionally rough and tactile, reflecting the dry, weathered character of the peninsula environment.

Large sliding doors and windows allow natural ventilation and expansive views to move through the house, while deep overhangs and layered screening protect the interiors from the intense sun and heat typical of this coastal location.

The house is currently in the costing phase, with construction anticipated to begin in 2026.
