A trio of coastal villas capturing the relaxed atmosphere and landscape of Bingin.

Sage Villas is located along Bingin Lane, a small coastal neighbourhood known for its relaxed surf culture, boutique guesthouses and informal beach restaurants.

Set against the dramatic limestone cliffs of the Bukit Peninsula, the site overlooks the distinctive coastal landscape of bright blue ocean and pale, sun-bleached stone.

The project comprises three holiday villas arranged along a gently sloping, elongated site. The design sought to capture the laid-back atmosphere of Bingin while creating refined spaces suited to contemporary coastal living.

The architecture takes inspiration from the idea of simple beach cabins, interpreted through a more refined architectural language. Roof structures are carefully positioned to provide shade while framing views towards the garden and sky. Large operable glass façades allow the interiors to open fully to the outdoors, encouraging natural ventilation and daylight throughout the villas.

Material selections contrast the clean architectural forms with softer, more tactile finishes. Wooden shingle roof tiles, marble flooring and textured plaster walls introduce warmth and a slightly rustic character.
