A small-scale hospitality development drawing from Sasak architecture and local materials.
This villa resort project is located in the coastal town of Kuta, Lombok and was conceived as a small-scale hospitality development comprising a collection of private rental villas.
The proposed masterplan includes an arrival lobby and support building, alongside seven one-bedroom villas, two two-bedroom villas and two three-bedroom villas arranged across the site.
The architectural concept draws inspiration from the surrounding Sasak villages, referencing local building traditions through materials, craft techniques and a muted natural colour palette. Wherever possible, the design prioritises materials that can be sourced locally within Lombok, supporting regional craftsmanship and reducing reliance on imported construction materials.
The project was designed as a contemporary interpretation of these vernacular influences, balancing modern spatial layouts with architectural forms that respond to the tropical climate and landscape.
Two of the villas have been constructed to date as part of the initial development phase, with the broader resort project currently paused.
