A considered renovation of beachfront accommodation, bringing a renewed sense of comfort, materiality and connection to the island setting.

Lumi Beach Villas forms the second completed phase of a wider renovation and interior remodelling project for the Lumi Hotel on Gili Trawangan, following the completion of Lumi Beach Club.

Originally designed by Andra Matin in 2019, the resort’s architecture provides the foundation for a series of carefully considered interior interventions, intended to enhance the guest experience while remaining connected to the original architectural character.

For the beach villas, our approach focused on creating more generous and comfortable spaces suited to longer stays. Internal layouts were reconfigured to introduce defined living areas and more spacious bathrooms, incorporating integrated bathtubs and indoor planting.

The outdoor terraces were also extended to accommodate private plunge pools, lounging and dining areas, strengthening the connection between the villas and their surrounding tropical landscape.

A restrained palette of natural materials, warm neutral tones and bespoke furniture creates a calm, contemporary interior language, with custom Indonesian textiles providing continuity with the wider Lumi renovation.

Together, these interventions bring a renewed sense of comfort and character to the villas while establishing a cohesive design language across the resort.
