These two 2-bedroom villas were designed for a client seeking to build rental properties in Bali. The compact site is located near Echo Beach, so the design needed to reflect its coastal setting.

To create an efficient space on a small site, we drew inspiration from simple mid-century forms with large, pitched roof angles. These forms allow for ample natural light, provide double-height spaces, and help protect the building from the harsh tropical climate.

The ground floor of the villas features a sunken lounge, open kitchen, and dining area, along with a swim-up pool bar that connects the pool with the interior spaces. Large operable glazing wraps around this lower floor, ensuring the spaces remain light and airy. The upper level includes two mirrored ensuite bedrooms with connecting balconies.

To maintain a laid-back, beach-inspired atmosphere, we incorporated recycled teakwood paneling, natural stone cladding, textured walls, and washed-out interior colors. Construction was completed in Q3 2024, and the villas are now available for booking on air bnb! Photos by Thomas Irsyad.
